Heart Shaped Moroccan Ammonoid Plate

The ammonoid plate is a beautiful work of art with an ancient story behind it. The ammonoid is a kind of marine mollusk that lived over 400 million years ago and is now extinct. The fossils they left behind look like ram horns. Roman naturalist Pliny the Elder called them “horns of Ammon,” as the Egyptian god Ammon was artistically depicted with these features. Though this dish looks stunning by itself, it also pairs well with other elements such as faux fruit.
